I don't know the many import regulations of the Ukraine, but most regulations do not allow the importation of fresh fruit, unless under licence, so you would not be able to do his if arriving on a normal passenger flight.

Eat it on the plane. Don't take it thru customs

Are you crazy? Have you been through airport security lately? Do you want to be harassed by the Ukrainians when you arrive? Why would this be interesting to do? They have fruit in the Ukraine, so just wait until you get there and save yourself the headache.

The people in Tampa won't care, neither will the airline(s). Customs in Kiev might, though I can't see them getting het up about your lil' ol' case of grapefruit
