How do bag fees on a flight work

How do bag fees on a flight work?
I have two parts to this question first off I will be going to Tampa on delta airlines. Do I need to pay bag fees both to and from Tampa? Second I will be going to the Dominican Republic on another flight all together on American Airlines. Does my bag fee change since it wont be in the US? any help would be appreciated thank you!!

1) you don't say you are coming *back* from Tampa! If you are, and you are bringing the bag back with you--yes, you will have to pay to get it home. 2) You had better check what AA will charge you to go to SDQ. I think Caribbean fee is same as US fee...but ask AA or go to their website

On Delta's domestic flight, the first checked bag is $15, second $25 if both are prepaid during online check in. If the 2 bags are checked in at airport counter, the first bag is $20, second $30. For most international flights, including American Airlines, the first 2 checked bags are free. All baggage charges are applicable every time you check in. All checked bags should not exceed 50 lbs/23 kgs each. If it is over this limit, even free bags would be charged for overweight. All airlines have different policies, go to the following links for details. http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/baggage_allowance/index.jsp#carryon http://www.aa.com/i18n/travelInformation/baggage/baggageAllowance.jsp&anchorEvent=false
