Im assuming your talking about an empty craft with 0 weather issues. Boeing says an empty 747 flying in optimal conditions uses 5 gallons for every mile. 1100 miles, including weight of the fuel, roughly 6000 gallons.

A plane like a Boeing 747 uses approximately 1 gallon of fuel (about 4 liters) every second. Over the course of a 10-hour flight, it might burn 36,000 gallons (150,000 liters). According to Boeing's Web site, the 747 burns approximately 5 gallons of fuel per mile (12 liters per kilometer). Distance MKE to Tampa: 1268 miles X5 = 6340 gallons approxiamtely

It is impossible to answer this question; because it depends upon what model of the Boeing 747 aircraft you are talking about; how many passengers or how much weight in cargo it is carrying, at what speed, at what altitude, in what temperatures at what time of year. For example, a 747-400 has a wingspan of 211 feet---a 747-600 has a span of 251 feet. the first is 63 feet high, the second is 70 feet high; the first has a weight of 403,500 pounds, the second a weight of 480,000 pounds. The 747-400 carries 385,000 pounds of fuel, the 747-600 carries 600,000 pounds. And then, there are a series of different engines available for each model. Each engine has different fuel use characteristics. Each aircraft has flight characteristics that establish an optimal range and altitude and speed for maximum fuel efficiency. It varies with weight, trim, temperature (day or night flying) and weather characteristics such as headwind and tailwind.

why would you fly a 747 top tampa that isnt a very long flight you could fly something more fuel efficiant
