I am thinking about being a flight attendant with Delta, how much do they start off at?
I am thinking about being a flight attendant for Delta Airlines and I currently live in Tampa if I get hired can I still live in Tampa or would I have to resign where ever there hub is?

Why not Southwest Airlines? Why? Here are a few reasons: They treat their employees well. They are a profitable carrier. They are innovative. They basically fly one aircraft, the Boeing 737, which makes a lot of things run smoother, from pilot flight op's to maintenance, to ease into airports, etc., etc. They have a great safety record. Finally, for a flight attendant, they don't have first class - so you get to treat all the passengers with the same basic services. Food for thought. Regarding your Q about the hub, I would say that depends on the carrier....Delta may have a hub in Atlanta so ask yourself if you want to live there. Anyway, for what it's worth. Good Luck.

I have a family member who works as a flight attendant for American and she makes in the low 50s after about twenty years on the job. Not sure about Delta though.

Maybe this will help. Hubs are in Atlanta, Cincinatti, Salt Lake City, New York City. You can live in Tampa but you would have to fly or drive to Atlanta from Tampa to 'go to work'. But...it is not a 40 hour, 5 day a week job, so that might be possible. Keep in mind...a 'day' of work for a flight attendent OR a pilot can vary greatly depending on so many factors. You might fly for 2 days, be off 4...fly for 4 days be off 2, fly for 1 day be off 5, fly 1 day & be off 1 day, etc. ...just depends on how they schedule you, does the flight have a lay-over, a connecting flight, is it Non-Stop, or how much seniority you have as a flight attendent. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos171.htm#earnings http://www.delta.com/about_delta/corporate_information/delta_stats_facts/index.jsp
